Question

I was just browsing ebay and I always come across the Ag minis. Now I know they dont make them any more, and I know they were really cute. But did they ever make dolls to go with these? It just seems weird to me that they made all these cute mini items and no dolls to go with them.

No, they never did. They tried to market them to the 10 and up girls who (heaven forbid!) had "outgrown their dolls." (what a horrible thought!)

I think that is one reason they didn't sell too well (that and the fact that they were incredibly expensive). How much playing could you do with just a setting and no dolls?

But they really were very well made and super cute. I just really wish they had made dolls to sleep in the little beds and sit at the tables, etc.

I put (gasp) mini Bratz in mine. I have the NYC Loft, so their ghetto appearance fits right in. I just say my loft is on the lower East Side.

Actually, IMO the AG mini's are *extremely* playable, even though nobody actually "lives" in the rooms. If you like to mix & match things, they're very satisfying - one of the world's all-time perfect toys. And all the set are SO well-made!! I love how everything's magnetic so you can change the walls, pictures, floors, etc. constantly. The Loft Apartment stuff (with the exposed brick walls, the retro bookcase, etc.) is the best!

I keep my Illuma-Room in my living room as a conversation piece...and I really can't believe how many adult friends I've gotten interested in it and playing with it. People who I would NEVER think would "stoop" to playing with a toy just can't resist it. They'll put together a room and then start talking about the imaginary people who live there. It's great.

I am a mini-addict! The stable is my current favorite, even though I don't even know what everything in it is. As far as people, the mini AGs fit, but look a little "fat" in there. Yoda loves to come to my boutique and try on those cool shoes! Unfortunately, I have to keep mine up on the chest out of reach of the little ones-my ceiling fan is already broken.

Another board member has the cutest album with bears in her rooms. Her photos are so creative!
